Damascus, Nov. 8 (SANA) The Central Bank of Syria, led by Governor Safwat Raslan, is participating in an investment conference program in Frankfurt, Germany, aimed at strengthening ties between Syria’s banking sector and international financial institutions.

The “Invest in Syria” event brings together representatives of Syrian, German and European financial and regulatory institutions, along with national and international development banks.

In a statement published on its Telegram channel Sunday, the central bank said it was attending the November 8–11 program at the invitation of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

The bank said it would present its financial priorities during Syria’s transition and explore opportunities for international banking and investment partnerships.

The discussions are expected to focus on exchanging expertise, strengthening banking relationships and expanding the Syrian financial sector’s engagement with international markets.

According to the organizers, the main conference will take place on November 10 at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management under the theme “Invest in Syria: A New Chapter for Syria’s Economy.”

The event aims to connect Syrian financial officials with German and European institutions and development banks to discuss economic recovery and long-term cooperation.

Key topics include strengthening Syria’s banking and payment systems, encouraging private-sector investment and supporting entrepreneurship as part of efforts to rebuild the economy after years of conflict.

The conference will also provide a platform for regulators, commercial banks and international financial institutions to explore ways to support Syria’s economic priorities.

A networking event will follow, allowing participants to continue discussions and explore potential partnerships.

In September, the Central Bank of Syria signed a cooperation agreement with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and German development bank KfW to develop banking expertise and strengthen staff capacity.
