Troy Ackerman has announced his departure from Total Holiday Options (THO) after nine months, revealing that his role as general manager for Australia and New Zealand has been dissolved.
Ackerman, who joined the destination management company and small group tour operator in February 2026, shared the news on LinkedIn.
“My role at Total Holiday Options has been dissolved, so I’m unexpectedly back in the job market,” he wrote.
“Not ideal timing, but these things happen!”
Ackerman joined THO with more than 26 years of travel industry experience, having previously served as general manager, Sales and Revenue at AAT Kings Group, where he oversaw sales across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.
His career has also included senior roles at Flight Centre, Globus, Wendy Wu Tours and Collette.
At the time of his appointment, THO founder, CEO and managing director Amaan Khan described Ackerman as a key driver of the company’s growth in Australia and New Zealand.
“THO is entering an exciting period of growth, expansion and innovation and we are delighted to have Troy’s expertise onboard as a key driver in the Australian and New Zealand markets,” Khan said at the time.
Ackerman is now calling on his industry network as he searches for his next opportunity.
“If you hear of anything that might be a good fit, or know someone worth having a conversation with, I’d really appreciate a heads-up. Equally, any shares or introductions would be greatly appreciated,” he wrote.
