Luxury Lodges of Australia members unveil refurbs, expeditions in 2027 duniapermainan.id portal berita batam sekupang akurat

Luxury Lodges of Australia members have lined up five major initiatives across Queensland, Tasmania, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

They include a major rebuild, two extensive refurbishments, a new private villa and new expeditions.

The program began with the reopening of Orpheus Island Lodge in July and will run over the next eight months. It culminates in May 2027 with the reopening of Bullo River Station and the 40th anniversary of True North Adventure Cruises.

“The vision and commitment behind each of these projects represents significant investment in some of Australia’s most remarkable places, and a clear belief in the enduring appeal of genuine Australian hospitality,” Luxury Lodges of Australia executive chair Penny Rafferty said.

“It’s particularly exciting to see how each lodge offering is evolving to heighten appeal for today’s travellers while staying true to what makes them special, whether that’s the timelessness of Orpheus Island, privileged access to remote coastlines aboard True North or the meeting of innovative agriculture, conservation and next level outback hospitality at Bullo River Station.”

The developments

  • Orpheus Island Lodge, Great Barrier Reef – Australian architecture and interior studio Dubois completed a six-month refurbishment of the North Beachfront rooms, suites and villas in July 2026.
  • Saffire Freycinet, Tasmania – Saffire Freycinet will open the Saffire Jewel private villa in December 2026. The 800sqm villa draws on the pink granite of The Hazards mountain range, local artefacts, lichen and charred timber.
  • Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia – Journey Beyond will reopen the lodge in late March 2027 following a $5 million refurbishment designed by Woods Bagot. New features include eco-luxury wilderness tents with ensuite bathrooms, a central sundeck and lounge, a new dining area, and an open bar showcasing premium Western Australian wines.
  • Bullo River Station, Northern Territory – The property will reopen in May 2027 after a major redevelopment of the homestead and a new guest wing. Sibella Court has led the nature-led design.
  • True North Adventure Cruises – In its 40th anniversary in 2027, the coastal expedition company will introduce two new expeditions: North of Ningaloo, which travels to the remote Rowley Shoals, and a 10-night Great Barrier Reef Explorer voyage, which includes a day at Osprey Reef. True North is also investing in new cabin configurations.

In October, seven Luxury Lodges of Australia members ranked among the world’s best in the Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards 2026.
